Matthew Dimech wins Singles Match 2 in Marsamxett

HOFC Proserv Ellevi Singles League 2nd Match held at Marsamxett

It was all fun the second day of the Proserv Ellevi HOFC singles league. The match was held in Valletta early hours of Sunday morning. The fifteen anglers participating in this league were set in 3 different sections according to their points in the table from the first match.

In the second section it was a great match for Matthew Dimech. He settled quite nicely securing his area with bait and catching some nice parrot fish both on bolo technique and even some feeder fishing with float. With his first full points of the season, Matthew now moves in 3rd place overall in the overall table. Second in his section with just 60gms shy placed Peter Azzopardi netting a good weight of 1.94kgs of mixed parrtot fish and breams.

In the top section it was a good match for Brady Sammut as he netted just 1.18kgs but were enough to secure the 6 points from his group in a difficult area of the venue. Brady now moves in first place overall followed by Lawrence Pulis who also had a nice match grabbing another 5 precious points in the overall table.

Noel Baldacchino won the third section and with a good 6 points he now moves in seventh place overall, followed by Carmel Spiteri who was fishing his very first match of the league.

Overall results of the day ….. First place overall Matthew Dimech with a good solid 2kgs. Second overall PeterPaul Azzopardi with 1.94ks while third place a rare win for Joe Buttigieg with 1.48kgs.

Sections winners were Brady Sammut in top section, Martin Pace in the second section and Noel Baldacchino in the third section.

A big well done goes to all the anglers participating in this year’s singles league sponsored by Proserv Ltd and Ellevi. Next match is scheduled for the 8th July in Vittoriosa Toqba.
