That’s a Wrap – Final League Match Report Carmel and Alex place , followed by Lawrence and Brady in 3rd Justin and Isaac.

Today marked the final match that determined the league's podium standings — and as expected, it was a tight one!

The competition was held at Sliema Ferries and got off to a drizzly start. Once the signal was given, all teams began ground baiting and casting their first lines. It quickly became evident that the fish weren’t biting on the cast, prompting many participants to switch to hand poles and fish closer in. This tactical shift paid off, with a variety of species landed including bream, parrotfish, wrasse, comber, and even a few small bogue.

Winners of the day were the Spiteri Brothers — Alex and Carmel — with an impressive catch totaling 4.315 kg. In second place were Lawrence and Brady with 3.338 kg, followed closely by Isaac and Justin with 2.505 kg, securing third place.

As this was the final match, the overall league podium has now been confirmed:

• 1st Place: Adrian Nelson & Paul Celeste – 25 points

• 2nd Place: Carmel & Alex – 23 points (with over 1kg more total weight)

• 3rd Place: Brady & Lawrence – 23 points
