Micheal Godfrey leading the table after match 3 in Birgu Toqba
3rd Match HOFC Proserv Ellevi Singles League 2018 was held yesterday in Vittoriosa quay also known as Toqba.
Micheal Godfrey with a superb catch on bolo showed real class on how perseverance pays off in difficult situations. With clear waters it was not easy to lure an 850gms sea bass to get her on taking the bait, but the lad really showed class yesterday. Micheal won the day with a total catch of 2.52kgs and secured all the 6 points to move in top of the overall table. He is also currently leading the biggest fish challenge with this nice sea bass, a specimen which hardly ever gets caught in competition matches.
In second place it was again Noel Baldacchino with a mixed catch of sea breams on his preferred running ledgering method netting in a toal of 1.20kgs. Noel now moves in 4th place overall just 1 point shy of the leading three joint leaders.
Third place overall it was again a good match for Matthew Dimech with a total of 1.18kgs. A nice 5 points from this match means Matthew also joins leading the table on points with Micheal Godfrey just 1.3kgs less in total weight of fish caught so far.
Section winners were Brady Sammut, Alex Spiteri and Marlon Tanti.
With this section win Brady now also moves in top position of the table just 200gms shy of Matthew Dimech. It will be match day 4 next week in Senglea Boilers Wharf which will surely provide some good expectations on both mullet and breams.
