This year’s HOFC singles league is proving to be one of the most ever competitive with a good number of anglers still enjoying a good position in the table with just a few points away making the difference.
Match 4 was scheduled for Boilers wharf in Senglea, with some difficulties during the week the match was going to be switched to another venue, but final contacts thanks to our hard working committee & Transport Malta made the venue accessible and everything went smooth as normal.
Match started at 6.00am sharp after the 5 minute grounbaiting period. Slow start to the match with some nice sized breams being caught on various pegs. It was not easy to fish the running ledger method due to the strong breeze which was blowing sideways, so most of the anglers went on searching fish in a more traditional way underneath the pier. Mullet was looking very shy and breams looked the chance of the day.
Lawrence Pulis in the top section set on well with grounbaiting his area and maintaining a good pace all through the match. He ended up with a good weight of 1.24kgs and a good maximum six points that sees him goes top position in the overall table.
In second place Adrian Nelson got five important points with just over a kilo of damsel fish, while Noel Baldacchino in third overall maintained a good run with another four points catching mainly breams on his preferred running ledger method.
