Tubertini Boys shine in Gzira front – Lawrence Pulis wins the 3rd match of the HOFC Gold Market singles league 2019.
It was Gzira front to host the second match of the Gold Market Singles League organised by HOFC Malta due to a venue change from Manoel Island. In a very hot typical summer morning with a force 4 north easterly wind from the back all anglers registered for this league were divided in the three different groups by means of a draw in the early hours of Sunday. 3 different sections of anglers each section with another 4 marshalls supervising the match.
Lawrence Pulis powered by Tubertini and Ellevi baits started well off with speed fishing on the pole netting a total of 1.85kgs of mixed fish using the hand pole. Located in section C which was more on the ferries side, Pulis secured a good solid 6 points that puts him in 9th position in the overall table with a good chance of progressing in the overall position. In section A it was a very close end with Sheldon Bouvett shining yet again and netting 5 nice sized mullets on bolo to secure his 6 points. Followed closely by Marlon Tanti from Tubertini with 1.5kgs and Adrian Nelson from Ellevi with 1.4kgs. Fourth place in section A went to Alex Spiteri from Ellevi with Giovann and John Cardona settling for the last 2 positions in the top section.
In section B it was quite a good day for Micheal Godfrey netting a total of 1.25kgs and securing his 6 points in the table. Followed by Joe Buttigieg L-Ghawdxi who got a nice 5 points, Peter Paul from Ellevi and Noel Baldacchino drawed the match with both 1.05kgs of fish and ending both with 4 points. Last in this section was Paul Sammut with 2 points and a total of 0.85kgs.
Overall winners on the day were Lawrence Pulis 1st place. Second overall his teammate from Tubertini Sheldon Bouvett and third overall Marlon Tanti. Sections wins for Adrian Nelson in section A, Micheal Godfrey in section B and Carmel Spiteri in section C.
Goes without saying a big well done to all that took part today for the great sportsmanship and the marshals for ensuring everyone was hydrated during the match and marshalling the match to ensure everything running smoothly.
