Comba League 2023 kicks off. Carmel wins this match.

After the Summer break ,last weekend was the 1st Match of yhe Hooked On Fishing Club Malta  'Comba' Giovanni 's Singlea League 2023. Due to weather conditions the venue that was opted for was Birgu. Weather wise itbqas fair after a few daya of rough seas which commenced to settle down by Sunday am. It was not an easy one as the fish where shy from biting and it was a slow morning. This league is limited to only bottom fishing so was also a little tricky.  Nevertheless the Anglers managed to keep trying different techniques and some fish where caught to be released alive after the weigh in. In first place was Carmel Spiteri  whom had over a kilo weight he had a few small bottom fish but also opted for the demsel fish which gave him the victory over the other anglers. In second place was Adrian Nelson  and in third place was Lawrence Pulis . Well done to all the participants and also the Marshalls on the day Peter Paul Azzopardi Nathalie Sammut  and Brady Sammut  for assisting and marshalling the match.
